On Sunday, January 19th we will be transferring from the Dangriga docks to a charter boat taking us to our island paradise for the next three days. Glovers Reef is 36 miles offshore, approximately an hour and a half, and takes us to our beautiful basecamp. We will be glamping in style at on Southwest Caye, a 13-acre island within Glovers Reef Marine Reserve. This area is a UNESCO designated site, as one of seven protected areas that together form the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System.
During our three days on the island, we will have the opportunity for guided snorkeling, sea kayaking, paddling, and fishing outings as we explore this pristine group of islands and some of the 700 patch reefs in a thriving coral. For those interested, a scuba adventure can be included at an additional charge. There will be ample time for relaxation and enjoyment of the beautiful water.
All of our meals will be prepared from scratch on the island. We will have a delicious assortment of poultry, seafood, fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, and fresh baked breads.

After enjoying our island retreat, it’s time to get moving and explore more of beautiful Belize. After breakfast, we’ll get moving with a great hike. This is an exhilarating hiking expedition to Antelope Falls through the rainforest, learning about the jungle flora and fauna from your guide along the way. After our challenging hike, we will enjoy a quick "dip" and cool off in the refreshing emerald pools at the top of the falls. From the top we will be able to see all the way to the Caribbean Sea. At this point we can relax and swim in this breathtaking setting.
Then it’s on to the rappel! A 250-foot waterfall rappel awaits us, and it may well be the highlight of your trip. This is one of those experiences you won’t want to miss.
Finally we will experience the high canopy of the rainforest with an exciting ride on Belize's longest zip line course. With several different zip lines, there is something exhilarating for everyone to experience.
Hike rated as challenging, approximately 3 miles

We’ve saved the best for our final full day in Belize. We will begin with a trip to the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins. A visit to the ruins provides a look back at a significant time in the history of Belize and the Mayan people. As part of our tour we will climb to the top of “El Castillo Temple” – the second tallest building in Belize.
Finally, we will head to the underground world of caves. It is believed the Mayans used the crevices and nooks in the cave systems for water, shelter, and different types of rituals, including human sacrifices. We’ll do our best to escape with all Chicas intact!
