About this trip
Do you love tulips, history, food, and adventure? If you answered “yes” to any of these, this thoughtfully designed journey through Holland and Belgium was created with you in mind — and now, you have options.
This experience is offered in two connected parts. You may join us for both the Holland + Belgium journey, or choose to join us for the Belgium portion only.
🌷 Holland | April 13–15
We’ll begin in the vibrant city of Amsterdam, where our adventure kicks off with a guided city tour and an exhilarating bike ride through the scenic Dutch countryside. The highlight? A visit to the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens, where endless fields of tulips will be in peak bloom — a truly unforgettable springtime experience.
This portion is perfect for travelers who want a short, iconic taste of Holland before continuing onward… or as a beautiful standalone add-on to the full journey.
🇧🇪 Belgium | April 16–23
The heart of the trip unfolds in Belgium, where we slow down and go deeper. This portion of the journey is intentionally curated and hosted by a private local guide who knows these places not just as destinations, but as home. From medieval cities and hidden waterways to countryside vineyards, castles, and kitchens, every detail has been seamlessly arranged — allowing you to travel with ease, confidence, and true insider access.
This is not a checklist trip. It’s an invitation to experience Belgium slowly, meaningfully, and beautifully, with exclusive experiences you simply wouldn’t find on your own — hands-on workshops, intimate meals, historic walks, and moments shared far from the crowds.
Whether you choose to join us for Belgium only or experience the full Holland + Belgium journey, this trip is designed for travelers who crave culturally rich, personal, and quietly extraordinary experiences — without the stress of planning or rushing from place to place.
Important Notes
Activity Level – Easy – Moderate
Get ready for a fun, active adventure! While we’re not planning anything too intense, we’ll be enjoying some leisurely biking, kayaking, and hiking through beautiful landscapes. But a heads-up: we’ll be strolling through charming cobblestone streets, exploring historic towns, and wandering along scenic trails, covering about 5+ miles each day. The ground can be uneven in spots, so make sure you pack sturdy, comfortable shoes and are ready to walk at a relaxed pace with plenty of photo breaks. You’ll be moving, but it’s all about enjoying the journey and soaking in the sights!
Weather
The weather in April can be anything from cold and rainy to sunny and warm and everything in between and all in one day. The average daily high temperature is 52-59 degrees F, with lows in the 40s at night. Bring warm clothes as it can be windy and with the humidity it makes it quite chilly!
Are you ready to embark on a journey of a lifetime?

In the afternoon, we resume our walk through Ghent before taking to the water for kayaking along the city’s canals, experiencing the city from an entirely different perspective. Apr 19-Bruges
Timeless Beauty at Your Own Pace
This morning, we ease into Bruges with two classic experiences that never lose their magic: a boat ride along the canals followed by a horse-drawn tram through the historic center, just as we’ve enjoyed in past Chicas Abroad journeys. Seeing Bruges from the water and cobblestones offers a graceful introduction to the city’s medieval charm and storybook setting.
After the horse tram drop-off, the remainder of the afternoon is completely free, allowing you to explore Bruges at your own rhythm. Wander quiet side streets, linger in cafés, browse artisan shops, or simply soak in the atmosphere — with no schedules, climbs, or set plans. Having already conquered cathedral towers earlier in the journey, today is about unhurried discovery.
In the evening, we come together once more for dinner at a trusted local favorite.

Midway through the ride, we stop for lunch, taking time to rest and enjoy the setting before continuing on. Part of the return journey is by bike, while another portion unfolds from the water aboard a river boat, offering a peaceful change of perspective.
We return to Bruges in the late afternoon, pleasantly tired and full of fresh air and new impressions. The evening is free, giving you the flexibility to follow your mood — whether that’s a quiet night in, or a wander through illuminated streets.

Brussels Highlights & Time to Wander

From here, we continue into Brussels for a guided city walk, exploring the city’s layered history, grand architecture, and lively neighborhoods. The walk is thoughtfully paced, offering a well-rounded sense of Brussels while leaving room to simply enjoy being in the heart of the city. Lunch is woven naturally into the day, allowing us to pause and recharge before continuing.
By mid-afternoon, the guided experience comes to a close, and the remainder of the day is completely free. After the hike, we enjoy lunch and a visit to Lindemans Brewery, where Belgian brewing tradition comes to life. We then continue by bus to Gaasbeek Castle for a visit, followed by a stop in Ternat to view another historic castle from the exterior — a quiet, elegant moment in the rural landscape.
