About this trip

Join us for a soul-stirring, laughter-filled journey through the majestic landscapes of Utah’s most iconic national parks. This 7-day all-women’s adventure is designed for bold spirits, nature lovers, and those craving connection—with the earth, with themselves, and with an incredible community of like-minded women.

From the wind-carved arches of Moab to the towering cliffs of Zion, the surreal hoodoos of Bryce Canyon, and the quiet magic of Capitol Reef, every day offers a new terrain to explore and a new story to write. We’ll hike sunrise trails, conquer adrenaline-pumping ATV rides, stargaze under some of the darkest skies in the country, and share unforgettable moments over campfires, canyon views, and shared achievements.

This journey is more than just a trip—it’s an invitation to step outside your comfort zone, breathe in the wild, and rediscover your strength, your joy, and your sense of adventure. Come as you are, leave forever changed.

Important Notes

Activity Level – Moderate to Hard

This trip is designed for women who enjoy staying active and exploring the outdoors at a moderate to adventurous pace. You can expect daily hikes ranging from 2 to 6 miles, some with elevation gain or uneven terrain, along with optional high-energy activities like ATV riding and river hikes. While no extreme athletic experience is required, a basic level of fitness and a sense of adventure will help you get the most out of the experience. We build in plenty of rest time, scenic breaks, and flexibility so you can challenge yourself while still feeling supported and energized throughout the journey.

Weather

In May, the weather across Moab, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef is generally ideal for outdoor adventures—mild to warm during the day and cooler at night. Moab and Zion typically see daytime highs in the 70s to 80s°F (21–30°C), perfect for hiking and exploring, while evenings dip into the 50s°F (10–15°C). Bryce Canyon, being higher in elevation, is cooler with daytime highs in the 60s°F (15–20°C) and chilly nights that can drop into the 30s–40s°F (1–7°C). Capitol Reef offers a pleasant mix, with temperatures ranging from the 60s to low 80s°F (16–27°C). May is also a relatively dry month, though quick afternoon showers are possible—so layers and sun protection are key.

Are you ready to embark on a journey of a lifetime?

From here, we’ll embark on a road trip through some of the most scenic landscapes in the Southwest. Picture winding roads, towering rock formations, and desert horizons that seem to stretch forever. By afternoon, we’ll arrive at the doorstep of Zion National Park—one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring places in the world. As we settle into our new home base, the excitement builds for what lies ahead.

Day 4 - Zion NP

Angels Landing or the Narrows

Zion invites us to go deep—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Today, we will choose the adventure depending on the weather in the days leading up to the trip. For thrill-seekers, the hike to Angels Landing offers a heart-pounding ascent with chains, cliffs, and views that make you feel on top of the world. Prefer to keep your feet a bit wetter (and cooler)? The Narrows trail leads you into a narrow slot canyon where you’ll wade through a river between towering stone walls. Both options offer a deep connection to nature and a huge sense of accomplishment. No matter the path you take, today will leave you feeling powerful and alive.

Day 5-Bryce Canyon NP

Hoodoos & Stargazing

We travel to Bryce Canyon today, where the landscape transforms again into a maze of crimson spires and delicate hoodoos that look like something from another planet. Our mid-morning hike is called the Figure 8 Trail and takes us down into the canyon’s amphitheater for a unique perspective on these towering formations. As we climb back up, we’ll reflect on how small we are in comparison to the ancient earth—and how strong we are to explore it. In the evening, we’ll wrap ourselves in warm layers and gather beneath one of the darkest skies in the country. With no city lights in sight, you’ll witness stars like you’ve never seen them before.

Accommodations: Hotel in Bryce Canyon City

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Activities: Hiking, Optional stargazing

Day 6- Capitol Reef

Solitude & Sisterhood

Today, we explore one of Utah’s most underrated gems: Capitol Reef National Park. This park offers a quieter, more intimate connection to the land, with fewer crowds and plenty of hidden treasures. We’ll hike to natural bridges, explore colorful canyons, and maybe even pick fruit from historic orchards, depending on the season. With dramatic cliffs, petroglyphs, and tranquil desert vibes, Capitol Reef is a perfect place to reflect, recharge, and reconnect. Tonight, we celebrate our journey and the bonds we’ve built as we share stories and laughter under the wide desert sky.

Sunrise & Soak

As our trip winds down, we’ll greet the final morning with one last sunrise—watching as the desert comes alive with light and color. It’s a quiet, grounding moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, both literally and figuratively. On our way back toward Salt Lake City, we’ll stop for a soak in natural hot springs—letting the warm waters ease tired muscles and seal in the serenity we’ve found together. This is more than a goodbye; it’s a celebration of your courage, your curiosity, and the beautiful connections formed through adventure.

Reviews

What a fabulous trip to Greece and the islands of Santorini and Mykonos! This is my second trip with Chicas Abroad and both trips have been stellar. Last year I hiked the Camino De Santiago trail with the Chicas and had a blast. The hotels are top of the line. You won’t be disappointed. I love that everything is arranged for you and all you have to do is enjoy! No stress on vacation as Melanie and her trip leaders take care of everything. The activities and tours are carefully chosen and all have been fabulous. And you get to make new friends with your fellow travelers. If you are looking for a tour company that is top of the line, check out ChicasAbroad.com for all of their fabulous trips! I am already looking forward to my next trip with the Chicas!

Just returned from 8 days in Greece with Chicas Abroad! What an amazing trip. From Athens to Santorini to Mykonos back to Athens. From the time I landed until the time I left I didn’t have to think about a thing. Everything was thoughtfully planned, including free time to explore and to see all of the relevant sights. It was a dream vacation. I have met wonderful ladies from all across the country, whom I will remain friends with for years to come. Melanie and Kathy were the most excellent Chicas guides! I loved every single minute. Can’t wait for the next adventure!

I traveled to Greece with 2 friends from my hometown and we had a wonderful time. However, the Chicas Abroad leaders, Melanie and Kathy had all the details planned extremely well and everyone was so nice that I would not hesitate to take another Chicas’ trip on my own. What a confidence booster! It was a super experience all the way around. Great job ladies!

This was my first trip with the Chicas. It will not be my last! The accommodations were top notch. The activity level was very active, we truly had great adventure. I learned so much thru the people I met. There was a real sence of belonging. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and fun as well. I started out with strangers but gained a new group of strong friends with these ladies. It was an unforgettable experience.

This trip felt “intimate” and very cultural. I enjoyed meeting meeting the food artisans in their shops (pasta, chocolate, dairy). The chefs and owners of several restaurants came to our table to welcome us, and will always remember dinner at Monica’s family home.

We could not have had the experience we had without your assistance. From the driver who picked us up from the airport to the driver of the 55 passenger bus the drivers were amazing. Having a guide for every excursion/tour was a must. Our tickets were ready, no lines to wait in, and having a knowledgeable guide was so appreciated!!! We were able to see everything we hoped to. Our time in Grimaldi was so special…we didn’t know what to expect. The people of Grimaldi were so kind and made us feel very welcomed. A trip of a lifetime that we were able to experience as a family🇮🇹❤️
