About this trip
Patagonia — even the name stirs a sense of wild wonder.
On this unforgettable women’s adventure through Chile’s legendary Torres del Paine National Park, you’ll journey to one of the most breathtaking corners of the planet. Snowcapped peaks, turquoise glacial lakes, and vast windswept pampas set the stage for a week of connection, challenge, and awe. From the moment you arrive in the charming town of Puerto Natales, Patagonia’s magic takes hold — an untamed landscape where nature feels bigger, wilder, and profoundly humbling.
Each day brings a new way to experience this dramatic terrain. Cruise through icy fjords to the Serrano and Balmaceda Glaciers, kayak alongside floating icebergs on Lago Grey, and hike to sweeping viewpoints that frame the park’s iconic granite towers. You’ll ride horseback with local baqueanos across open valleys and lenga forests, tracing ancient routes beneath soaring peaks, and celebrate your journey with a well-earned toast at the end of an epic day. Throughout the week, expert local guides and your Chicas Abroad travel tribe create an atmosphere of empowerment, camaraderie, and joy — adventure done the feminine way.
Your accommodations reflect the spirit of Patagonia itself: comfortable, atmospheric, and deeply connected to the landscape. You’ll stay in iconic in-park hotels like Hotel Lago Grey and Hotel Las Torres, placing you in the heart of Torres del Paine, as well as a scenic waterfront hotel in Puerto Natales overlooking the Ultima Esperanza Fjord. Evenings are spent unwinding with hearty Patagonian cuisine, local wines, and shared stories from the trail — moments that turn fellow travelers into lifelong friends.
This is more than a trip; it’s a fully guided, all-inclusive journey to the edge of the world. With private transportation, expert guides, included excursions, park fees, and gratuities taken care of, all you need to do is show up ready to explore. Patagonia invites you to step beyond the ordinary — to discover your strength, deepen your connections, and experience the expansive freedom that comes from saying yes to adventure.
Important Notes
Activity Level – Moderate
This trip is designed for women who enjoy being physically active in nature and are comfortable spending multiple days exploring on foot, by kayak, and on horseback — all with expert guides and plenty of support.
Daily activities include guided hikes on established trails, scenic kayaking on glacial lakes, and a full-day hike to Base Las Torres, the most challenging day of the trip. Hiking distances and elevation vary by day, and there is time built in for rest, photo stops, and enjoying the landscape along the way.
You do not need to be an athlete or an experienced mountaineer, but you should feel confident:
-
Walking 5–8 miles (8–13 km) in a day on uneven terrain
-
Hiking for 4–8 hours with breaks
-
Managing moderate elevation gain
-
Participating in kayaking and horseback riding activities designed for beginners
All activities are fully guided, with safety briefings, appropriate gear support, and pacing that prioritizes group success over speed. You’ll carry only a light daypack, and private transportation supports you throughout the journey.
This trip will require training beforehand so you can be as comfortable and fit as possible. Reach out to your Chicas Abroad guide if you have any additional questions or concerns. We can suggest ideas on how to train and prepare for this trip.
Weather
March in Chilean Patagonia marks the tail end of summer, bringing crisp, cool weather and stunning autumn colors. Guests can expect daytime temperatures ranging from the mid-40s to mid-60s °F (7–18°C), with cooler mornings and evenings. Conditions can change quickly — sunshine, wind, rain, and even a dusting of snow are all possible in a single day — so layering is key. The famous Patagonian wind often adds drama to the landscape but also keeps the air crystal clear, offering incredible visibility for photography and breathtaking views of the peaks and glaciers.
Are you ready to embark on a journey of a lifetime?

Mar 3 - Glacier Cruise
Fjords and Glaciers by Boat
Today you’ll journey deep into Patagonia’s remote fjords on a scenic catamaran cruise to the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers, a route accessible only by water. As you glide through narrow channels framed by lush forests and cascading waterfalls, keep watch for sea lions resting along the rocky shores and Andean condors soaring overhead.
Mar 4 - Glacier Kayak
Kayak the Rio Grey
This morning, your Torres del Paine adventure truly begins. After a private transfer into the heart of the park, you’ll arrive at Playa Grey, where your expert guides will outfit you with kayaking gear and walk you through a thorough safety briefing before you take to the water.
Mar 5 - Glacier Grey
Glacier Cruise & Suspension Bridge Hike
After breakfast, you’ll check in at the Hotel Lago Grey navigation desk and set off deeper into the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. A scenic 30–45 minute hike leads to a windswept lakeside beach, where you’ll board a catamaran bound for Refugio Grey.
As the boat glides across the water, settle in with a complimentary pisco sour and soak in the ever-changing Patagonian scenery — jagged peaks, wide-open skies, and glacial waters stretching to the horizon. Upon arrival, your private guide will lead you along an out-and-back trail to the second suspension bridge, one of the most iconic viewpoints on the famed W Trek. The path winds through enchanting lenga forest and opens to sweeping vistas that showcase the raw grandeur of the park.
Back at the beach, you’ll reboard the catamaran for a breathtaking finale: a close-up navigation in front of the electric-blue ice walls of Glacier Grey. Watching ancient ice rise from the water is a powerful reminder of Patagonia’s scale and beauty.
After crossing back over the lake, you’ll walk along the shoreline to Hotel Lago Grey, where dinner is included. The rest of the evening is yours to relax, reflect, and savor another unforgettable day in Patagonia.

Mar 6 - Scenic Hikes
Mirador Condor & Los Cuernos Hikes
This morning, you’ll say goodbye to Lago Grey and continue your hiking journey deeper into Torres del Paine National Park. A scenic 45-minute drive brings you to the trailhead for Mirador Cóndor, one of the park’s most rewarding viewpoints. The hike is short but invigorating, with a steady, sometimes windy ascent that quickly pays off with sweeping panoramas of jagged peaks, turquoise lakes, and the vast Patagonian landscape stretching in every direction.
After descending back to the trailhead, it’s time for lunch at a truly iconic location. Crossing a bridge suspended over striking blue waters, you’ll arrive at Hostería Pehoé, one of the most photographed spots in the park. Enjoy local cuisine while taking in postcard-perfect views — a moment to slow down and savor the setting.
In the afternoon, the adventure continues with a gentle hike to Mirador Cuernos. The trail passes the thundering waters of Salto Grande before reaching the shores of Lago Nordenskjöld, where the legendary Cuernos del Paine rise dramatically across the lake, their granite spires glowing in shifting light.
The day concludes with a final transfer to Hotel Las Torres, where a well-earned dinner awaits. Settle in for the evening, surrounded by the peaks that define this unforgettable landscape.

Mar 7 - Hike & Horseback
Horseback & Hike to Mirador Las Torres Base
Today is the grand finale of your time in Torres del Paine — an unforgettable day as you take on the park’s most iconic trek to Mirador Base Las Torres. The adventure begins right at Hotel Las Torres’ private stables, where you’ll meet the Patagonian horses and learn about their role in this rugged landscape before saddling up for a scenic horseback ride.
Riding across open valleys and along mountain trails, you’ll make your way to Refugio Chileno, where the equestrian portion of the journey ends and the hiking adventure begins. From here, you’ll tackle the final three-mile ascent to the famed viewpoint — a steep and challenging stretch that rewards perseverance with one of the most awe-inspiring sights in Patagonia.
At the shoreline of the glacial lake beneath the towering granite spires of the Torres, you’ll pause to take it all in. Enjoy your boxed lunch, celebrate the accomplishment, and soak up a moment that few ever forget — the culmination of days spent exploring one of the world’s most dramatic landscapes.
The return follows the same route back to Refugio Chileno, where your horses await to carry you back to the hotel. This evening, gather for a celebratory farewell dinner, sharing stories, laughter, and well-earned pride before transferring to Puerto Natales for your final night in Patagonia.
