About this trip

Get ready for an unforgettable 8-day escape where sparkling coastlines, rugged mountain peaks, ancient towns, and gourmet delights come together in one dazzling journey across Croatia and Montenegro.

Starting in the storybook streets of Dubrovnik, we’ll paddle beneath medieval walls before venturing inland to the wild beauty of Durmitor National Park. Think easy hikes to shimmering glacial lakes, horseback rides through UNESCO landscapes, and cozy chalet nights under the stars. Adrenaline seekers will love rafting the turquoise waters of the Tara River Canyon, while history buffs will soak up the serenity of ancient monasteries tucked in lush valleys.

From there, the adventure slows to a dreamy pace: scenic e-bike rides through vineyards, private boat cruises across Lake Skadar, olive oil tastings among thousand-year-old groves, and decadent meals served in hilltop fortresses. Luxe seaside stays in Sv. Stefan and Kotor let you live out your Adriatic yacht dreams — speedboat arrivals included.

We’ll finish our journey with a sweeping cable car ride and epic downhill bike adventure, taking in Montenegro’s breathtaking fjord-like Bay of Kotor from every angle. With exclusive boutique accommodations, hand-picked local experiences, and plenty of time to sip, savor, and soak it all in — this trip offers the perfect blend of soft adventure, relaxation, and feminine luxury.

Adventure, indulgence, connection, and discovery — this is Montenegro, the Chicas way.

This women-only experience is limited to 12 Chicas, so don’t miss out! And don’t worry – we offer flexible payment plans to make this incredible trip fit your budget. Keep reading for the full itinerary, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

Important Notes

Activity Level – Moderate

This trip is designed for active women who love a mix of soft adventure and relaxation. Activities include easy hikes, beginner-friendly kayaking and rafting, leisurely e-biking, and optional horseback riding — all at a pace that’s adventurous but never extreme. Expect light to moderate physical activity most days, with plenty of time built in for rest, spa visits, and gourmet indulgences. No technical experience needed — just a spirit for fun and exploration!

Weather

Early October is one of the best times to visit Croatia and Montenegro — the summer crowds have faded, but the weather is still beautifully pleasant. Along the coast (Dubrovnik, Kotor Bay, Sv. Stefan), you can expect warm, sunny days with highs around 70–75°F (21–24°C) and comfortably cool evenings, perfect for seaside dining and strolls. In the mountains (Durmitor National Park and around Tara Canyon), the air is crisp and fresh, with daytime highs around 55–65°F (13–18°C) and cooler nights dipping into the 40s°F (5–10°C) — ideal for cozying up in your chalet. Occasional light rain is possible, so a light jacket and layers are recommended, but overall, the vibe is bright, golden, and refreshingly mild — perfect for outdoor adventures and unwinding by the sea.

In the afternoon, choose your own soft adventure: saddle up for a beginner-friendly horseback ride to the mystical Stećci — ancient medieval tombstones scattered among the peaks — or opt for an e-bike ride to the same enchanting spot. We’ll pause for a leisurely lunch at a family-run organic winery, where every glass and plate tells a local story. Then it’s time to unwind on a peaceful two-hour boat cruise across the shimmering waters of Lake Skadar, drifting past ancient monasteries, wild wetlands, and postcard-perfect mountain backdrops. Then it’s time for a little sparkle: we whisk you along the stunning coast to Tivat, Montenegro’s luxury yacht haven, where a private speedboat awaits to whisk us to the Bay of Kotor. Reviews

What a fabulous trip to Greece and the islands of Santorini and Mykonos! This is my second trip with Chicas Abroad and both trips have been stellar. Last year I hiked the Camino De Santiago trail with the Chicas and had a blast. The hotels are top of the line. You won’t be disappointed. I love that everything is arranged for you and all you have to do is enjoy! No stress on vacation as Melanie and her trip leaders take care of everything. The activities and tours are carefully chosen and all have been fabulous. And you get to make new friends with your fellow travelers. If you are looking for a tour company that is top of the line, check out ChicasAbroad.com for all of their fabulous trips! I am already looking forward to my next trip with the Chicas!

Just returned from 8 days in Greece with Chicas Abroad! What an amazing trip. From Athens to Santorini to Mykonos back to Athens. From the time I landed until the time I left I didn’t have to think about a thing. Everything was thoughtfully planned, including free time to explore and to see all of the relevant sights. It was a dream vacation. I have met wonderful ladies from all across the country, whom I will remain friends with for years to come. Melanie and Kathy were the most excellent Chicas guides! I loved every single minute. Can’t wait for the next adventure!

I traveled to Greece with 2 friends from my hometown and we had a wonderful time. However, the Chicas Abroad leaders, Melanie and Kathy had all the details planned extremely well and everyone was so nice that I would not hesitate to take another Chicas’ trip on my own. What a confidence booster! It was a super experience all the way around. Great job ladies!

This was my first trip with the Chicas. It will not be my last! The accommodations were top notch. The activity level was very active, we truly had great adventure. I learned so much thru the people I met. There was a real sence of belonging. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and fun as well. I started out with strangers but gained a new group of strong friends with these ladies. It was an unforgettable experience.

This trip felt “intimate” and very cultural. I enjoyed meeting meeting the food artisans in their shops (pasta, chocolate, dairy). The chefs and owners of several restaurants came to our table to welcome us, and will always remember dinner at Monica’s family home.

We could not have had the experience we had without your assistance. From the driver who picked us up from the airport to the driver of the 55 passenger bus the drivers were amazing. Having a guide for every excursion/tour was a must. Our tickets were ready, no lines to wait in, and having a knowledgeable guide was so appreciated!!! We were able to see everything we hoped to. Our time in Grimaldi was so special…we didn’t know what to expect. The people of Grimaldi were so kind and made us feel very welcomed. A trip of a lifetime that we were able to experience as a family🇮🇹❤️
