Highlights
Activity Level: Moderate to Hard Hiking
The hikes that we have planned for this trip are rated as moderate-hard. Be prepared for substantial elevation gain over a short distance. You will want to be in decent hiking shape before this trip (30 min/mile on average). We will not be rushed and have the ability to stop for breaks or take a slow pace, but we want to make sure everyone is at a similar level so we can stay close together during the hike. The best way to train for the hikes in store would be to go for walks of equal distance and try to train for elevation gain if possible (hiking uphill or using a stair climber at a gym are a couple of ways). Comfortable hiking boots/shoes and a reliable daypack are a priority.
Weather
May is the ideal time to visit this area of Utah as the snow has melted, but the heat of the summer hasn’t arrived yet, nor have the summer crowds. We should expect highs in the 60s-70s and lows in the 40s-50s at night. Perfect hiking weather!

All the excursions listed in the itinerary are included. Bring cash/credit cards for purchasing souvenirs, additional snacks/meals, alcoholic drinks, extra activities, and other items. All gratuities are included with the exception of those for your Chicas Abroad tour leader. Tipping the Chicas Abroad tour leader is optional and not included in the price of your adventure.

Day 2-Zion National Park
May 16 – Hiking in Zion National Park
We’ll kick off the day with a delicious breakfast and hot coffee to fuel up for the adventure ahead before hopping into the Chicas van and heading out to our first hike of the trip! We’re all buzzing with excitement to hit the trail, and our first stop is the Scout Lookout via the West Rim Trail—an absolute showstopper of a hike.
From the moment we set foot on the trail, we’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views, with panoramic vistas stretching out as far as the eye can see. As we make our way up, we’ll tackle the famous Walter’s Wiggles, a series of tight switchbacks that will certainly get your heart pumping and your legs working. But the payoff is more than worth it: the views just keep getting better, and the final destination—Scout Lookout—offers a jaw-dropping view of Angel’s Landing, one of Zion’s most iconic landmarks.
After soaking in the sights, we’ll reward ourselves with a picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by the incredible beauty of Zion. Depending on how much time we have left, your guide will choose a second, easier hike that follows the more challenging one—something that will be light on elevation but still offers stunning scenery.
Once we’ve finished our hikes and basked in the glow of the day’s adventures, we’ll hop back into the van and head to Bryce Canyon City, where we’ll check into our accommodations and settle in. To top off the day, we’ll enjoy a group dinner together—sharing stories, laughs, and reflections on the day’s stunning hikes.
It’s the perfect blend of adventure, camaraderie, and awe-inspiring landscapes—one day in, and already full of memories!

May 17 – Hike amongst the Hoodoos in Bryce Canyon National Park
Today, we’ll rise early to greet the sunrise in the heart of Bryce Canyon National Park—a moment you’ll never forget as the first light of day casts a warm glow over the iconic landscape. After soaking in the breathtaking views, we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead before heading to our trailhead.
Our hike today will take us on the Figure 8 Trail, a stunning 6.3-mile loop that winds through some of the park’s most spectacular scenery. As the name suggests, we’ll traverse a figure-eight-shaped route, and trust us, every twist and turn will reveal a new and awe-inspiring landscape. Picture hoodoos stretching as far as the eye can see, rock formations in shades of red, orange, and gold, and sweeping views that seem almost too beautiful to be real. We’ll take our time on this hike, savoring every moment as we soak in the beauty of Bryce Canyon.
After completing this jaw-dropping trek, we’ll head back to our hotel to freshen up and relax for a bit. Later, we’ll venture out to Bryce Canyon City, where we’ll have the chance to explore the charming town, browse through quaint souvenir shops, and pick up some fun keepsakes. Then, we’ll cap off the day with a delicious dinner, celebrating the adventures we’ve had and the new memories we’ve made.

Day 4 - Cedar Breaks
May 18 – Cedar Breaks National Monument and Drive to Salt Lake City
As we pack up and prepare for our journey back to Salt Lake City, we’ll savor the last moments of our adventure together—reflecting on the incredible memories we’ve made, the friendships we’ve forged, and the stunning landscapes we’ve explored. But before we say our goodbyes, we have one final stop in store.
On the way to Salt Lake City, we’ll make a breathtaking detour to Cedar Breaks National Monument—a hidden gem that offers sweeping views of colorful rock formations and rugged canyons. The vibrant hues of the landscape, combined with the peaceful serenity of the spot, will be the perfect way to cap off our time in this awe-inspiring part of the world. It’s a chance to pause, take it all in, and reflect on the unforgettable hikes, shared laughter, and moments of connection with a wonderful group of women.
We’ll arrive at Salt Lake City Airport in the afternoon, with plenty of time for everyone to catch their flights. For a smooth departure, plan your flight to leave at 3:00 PM or later.
