Highlights
Activity Level: Moderate Hiking
The hikes that we have planned for this trip are rated as moderate and all are 5-6 miles in length. To prepare for these hikes, you will want to be in good hiking shape(30 min/mile on average). We will not be rushed and have the ability to stop for breaks or take a slow pace, but we want to make sure everyone is at a similar level so we can stay close together during the hike. The best way to train for the hikes in store would be to go for walks of equal distance and try to train for elevation gain if possible (hiking uphill or using a stair climber at a gym are a couple of ways). Comfortable hiking boots/shoes and a reliable daypack to carry water and snacks are a priority.
Weather
The weather in the Yellowstone and Grand Teton area in July can range from the 70s-90s during the day and cool to the 50s at night. Watch the weather to determine what type of clothing to pack.
Money & Tipping
All the excursions listed in the itinerary are included. Bring cash/credit cards for purchasing souvenirs, additional snacks/meals, alcoholic drinks, extra activities, and other items. All gratuities are included with the exception of those for your Chicas Abroad tour leader. Tipping the Chicas Abroad tour leader is optional and not included in the price of your adventure.
Packing List
A custom packing list will be emailed out a few months prior to departure.

After our invigorating hike, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch, taking in the scenery and reflecting on the unforgettable sights. The afternoon will be packed with more exploration as we head to the towering beauty of Tower Falls and the fascinating geothermal wonders of Mammoth Hot Springs. Day 3 - Yellowstone NP
July 26 – More Hiking & Exploring of Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park covers more than 2 million acres and today we will spend another full day hiking and exploring as there is so much to see and a lot of acreage to cover. This will be another day to view the abundance of wildlife and it’s highly likely we’ll get a glimpse of a bear, possibly a grizzly. We will be packing up and checking out of our Yellowstone cabins and with breakfast onboard we will head out early to beat the heat and the crowds.
Since it is pretty warm this time of year, we will start out with a hike before we explore more of what Yellowstone has to offer. Like any hike in Yellowstone, this is a prime spot for wildlife viewing, including bison and wolves, and has minimal elevation gain. Following our hike we will explore more of the famous sites of Yellowstone National Park, including the Norris Geyser Basin, the Grand Prismatic and of course Old Faithful. We’ll enjoy a beautiful lunch with prime viewing of the Old Faithful eruption.
After a full day in the park, we’ll check into our new lodging and enjoy a relaxing evening at the south end of Yellowstone.
Accommodations: Park Lodge, Yellowstone National Park
Hiking: Moderate with minimal elevation gain, 5-6 miles

Day 4 - Grand Teton NP
July 27 – Exploring Grand Teton National Park by car and on foot
Today’s adventure takes us from the wild beauty of Yellowstone to the jaw-dropping landscapes of Grand Teton National Park! While Grand Teton may be smaller in size than Yellowstone, it’s no less packed with awe-inspiring sights, and we’ll make the most of every moment in this pristine wilderness. As we head south into the park, we’ll make our way to the stunning Coulter Bay area, surrounded by towering peaks, crystal-clear waters, and abundant wildlife.
With so many incredible hiking options, we’ll choose a trail that gives us the best views of the iconic Tetons while also offering prime wildlife sightings. Keep your eyes peeled for moose, elk, and maybe even a bear as we hike through this wild paradise.
After our hike, we’ll spend the rest of the day exploring the serene Coulter Bay area, where you can take in the beauty of the park at your own pace. We’ll enjoy a picturesque picnic lunch with breathtaking views, and for those who want to cool off, Jackson Lake offers the perfect spot for a refreshing swim in its pristine waters. This is the ultimate way to unwind, surrounded by nature’s splendor and the camaraderie of fellow adventurers. Day 5 - Goodbye Parks
July 28 – Final Day in Yellowstone NP & Departure from Bozeman, MT
As we near the end of our grand adventure, we’ll check out of our lodge after a hearty breakfast, but don’t worry—the fun isn’t over just yet! We’re making the most of our last day as we head north around the stunning Yellowstone Lake toward the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. With its breathtaking views and dramatic landscapes, this will be a highlight you’ll carry with you long after the trip ends. Prepare to capture these unforgettable moments—the sights are so mesmerizing, they’ll become permanent treasures in your photo collection.
As we explore the final corners of Yellowstone, we’ll make our way out of the park’s west entrance, stopping in West Yellowstone for some last-minute souvenir shopping. And if time allows, we’ll make a sweet pit stop in Big Sky for some refreshing ice cream—because what better way to wrap up an epic adventure?
Throughout this journey, you’ve not only experienced the awe-inspiring landscapes of Yellowstone and Grand Teton but also forged lasting friendships with the incredible women who shared it all with you. Whether it was the exhilarating hikes, the wildlife sightings, or the shared laughter around the dinner table, these memories and bonds will stay with you long after the park gates close.
We’ll return to Bozeman between 1pm and 2pm, giving you plenty of time to catch afternoon flights – book your flight for 3:00pm or after. If you’re extending your stay and want to soak in a little more of this beautiful region, we’d be happy to help with accommodations.
