About this trip
Join us for an epic adventure through Sicily, Italy! This is an immersive, luxury experience where you will explore the beautiful eastern coast of Sicily and stay in 4 and 5-star hotels. Highlights of this adventure include stunning hikes, cooking class, visit to a chocolatier, wineries, and a visit to Mount Etna (Europe’s largest active volcano).
Note: This is a women-only Chicas Abroad adventures, but if you are wanting to travel to Sicily with your husband, boyfriend, partner, father, son, brother, friend, etc., check out the Co-Ed trip with the same itinerary that is offered November 7-14, 2025.

Highlights
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate
This adventure includes three shortish hikes (2.5-3.5 miles each). We will be walking on cobblestone streets and other uneven ground for several miles each day for our city tours and other explorations, so be sure that you have sturdy shoes and are able to walk several miles each day.
Custom Payment Plans Available
A non-refundable $1000 deposit is due upon booking followed by 6 equal monthly payments of $625 is the default payment plan for this trip (April-Sept). If you’d like to set up a different payment plan, please contact us at info@chicasabroad.com.
Weather
The weather in Sicily in November typically is highs in the 70s during the day, and lows in the 50s at night. Layers are important!
Money & Tipping
All the excursions listed in the itinerary are included. Bring cash/credit cards for purchasing souvenirs, additional snacks/meals, alcoholic drinks, extra activities, and other items. You can either order Euros from your bank at home or use an ATM on arrival in Sicliy to get some cash. Exchanging USD to Euros at the airport or at a bank in Italy is not always easy and doesn’t always give the best exchange rates. The best option is to order Euros from your home bank.
All gratuities are included with the exception of those for your Chicas Abroad tour leader. Tipping the Chicas Abroad tour leader is optional and not included in the price of your adventure.

Sneak Peek Trip Details
Day 1 - Arrive Catania
Arrive in Catania and private transfer to Ragusa
Arrive at the Catania airport (CTA) on November 14th by 3:00pm. A private transfer is provided from the Catania airport to our accommodations in Ragusa.
Tonight we will enjoy a welcome dinner to get to know the group that you’ll be adventuring with over the next week.
Accommodation: Ragusa 5-star hotel, Eremo della Giubiliana (or similar)

Day 2 - Cava Misericordi
Excursion to Cava Misericordia; Street food lunch; Cooking class
In the morning, we will begin with an excursion to the Cava Misericordia, a river valley of naturalistic and historical interest. Among the vegetation and limestone rocks it is possible to see clear signs of human settlements built during different ages, such as the ancient convent of Misericordia and the historic Via dei Mulini, which preserves ruins of ancient mills and houses.
After the excursion, we will enjoy a street food lunch in the city center of Ragusa Ibla.
There will be some leisure time in the afternoon before heading to an ancient mill in Ragusa for a hands-on cooking class where we will learn how to make scacce ragusane, a delicious stuffed flatbread that is a popular food in the whole region.

Day 3 - Ragusa to Noto
Depart Rogusa with a stop at a chocolatier; Arrive in Noto
After breakfast we will check-out of our Ragusa hotel. En route to Noto, we will stop in Modica for a visit to a local chocolatier to discover the peculiar way this sweet treat is produced here. There will be some leisure time for the group to grab lunch on their own.
Upon arrival in Noto, we will take the rest of the day at leisure, with time to discover this lovely UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening we will meet up for a group dinner.

Day 4 - Vendicari
Vendicari Nature Reserve; Winery visit
After breakfast, we will head to Vendicari, a nature reserve and a stop along the migration path of numerous bird species such as herons and flamingos. We will see the imposing Tonnara (tuna fishery), facing the pristine waters of the Vendicari beach. A packed lunch will be included to fuel our adventure!
In the afternoon, we will drive along the enchanting roads of the gorgeous countryside of Noto and Syracuse, with vineyards and olive groves undulating over gentle hills. We will enjoy a visit to a local winery and taste the flavor of some of the most renowned Sicilian Wines, considered as the most ancient of Italy, such as Nero d’Avola.

Hiking: 2.7 miles, easy-moderate level
Day 5 - Noto to Ortigia
Depart Noto; Island of Ortigia food market; Arrive in Taormina
After breakfast, we will check-out of our hotel and head to the island of Ortigia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will venture down the winding streets, where splendid Renaissance and Baroque buildings enrich the archaeological wealth of this town. The group will head to the food market and enjoy an unforgettable light lunch with several samples of typical Sicilian appetizers.
Upon arrival in Taormina, we will check-in to our hotel and take the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6 - Taormina
Taormina city tour
After breakfast, we’ll meet a local guide for a tour of Taormina. Here we will see the celebrated Teatro Greco, an ancient Greek theatre built in the third century BC. It is for sure one of the most fascinating and picturesque Sicilian historical monuments, being incredibly well-preserved and surrounded by a breathtaking natural scenery.
We will enjoy the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 7 - Mount Etna
Mount Etna Hike; Wine-tasting; Farewell Dinner
Today is a big day! We will drive to Europe’s largest active volcano, Mount Etna, which dominates Eastern Sicily. We will hike to the Bocche del 2002, two craters that formed during the 2002 eruption, a phenomenon that permanently modified the appearance of this area by destroying large forest areas as well as some buildings.
After our hike, we will reach a winery at the base of Mount Etna for lunch and a wine tasting and discover how volcanic soils give birth to amazing wines.
After the winery, we will head back to Taormina and enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
In the evening, the group will gather for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8 - Depart Catania
Airport transfers and departures
Book your departure for Friday, November 21st at any time. A private transfer from the Taormina hotel to the Catania airport will be provided.

A $1000 non-refundable deposit due at booking. The remainder is due in 6 monthly payments of $625 (April-September). Ask us about a modified payment plan to fit your budget; we are happy to make any accommodations as long as it’s paid in full by September 7, 2025.
