About this trip
Let’s go to the mystical high desert of Arizona in beautiful Sedona! This is the ideal location for hiking with gorgeous views around every turn while enjoying perfect fall weather. We will enjoy the trendy shops and restaurants of Sedona and help support the local economy! A day trip to the stunning rock waves of Antelope Canyon and gorgeous Horseshoe Bend will surely be a highlight of this trip! Grab your hiking boots and join us for this epic adventure!
Highlights
Activity Level – Moderate
We are in one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in the United States, so we will be hiking daily! The hikes are rated as moderate and will have some minor scrambling over boulders with some shale and uneven ground. We suggest you prepare for these hikes by hitting some local hikes that have some elevation gain and/or hit the stair-stepper at the gym to get your lungs and legs in shape.
Note: Sedona sits at a high elevation (4,360′), so try to do some high elevation hikes to prepare if you have them available in your local area.
Weather
Sedona see highs in the 60s-70s in the day in November with lows in the 40s-50s. Perfect hiking weather!
Money & Tipping
All the excursions listed in the itinerary are included. Bring cash/credit cards for purchasing souvenirs, additional snacks/meals, alcoholic drinks, extra activities, and other items.All gratuities are included with the exception of those for your Chicas Abroad tour leader. Tipping the Chicas Abroad tour leader is optional and not included in the price of your adventure.

Sneak Peek Trip Details
Day 1-Arrive in Phoenix
Chicas Abroad Shuttle from Phoenix to Sedona and Evening in Sedona
Plan to arrive in Phoenix by 3:00pm. The Chicas shuttle will transport guests from the Phoenix airport to Sedona where we will settle into our rooms and then enjoy a Welcome Dinner to get to know all the Chicas.
Depending on timing and how everyone is feeling, we may squeeze in an afternoon/evening hike near the hotel.

Day 2-Hiking & Shopping
Soldier Pass Trail Hike and Shopping
Today we rise early to grab coffee and breakfast and head out on a hike to Soldier Pass. This hike offers stunning views of natural wonders, including a sinkhole formed by a collapse of underground caverns (Devil’s Kitchen), Seven Sacred Pools, which are small pools formed into the rock in a striking desert setting, and we will pass by Soldier Pass Cave and Soldier Arch. So many amazing wonders to see along this 4.5 mile hike!
After the hike, we will return to Sedona for lunch (on your own) and some retail therapy! There are so many cute shops to explore in the heart of Sedona.
We will finish out our evening with dinner and a hot tub soak and/or dip in the pool!

Activity: Hike 4.5 miles with an elevation gain of 856 feet. Hike is rated as moderate.
Day 3 - Antelope Canyon
Tour Antelope Canyon and Hike to Horseshoe Bend
Today we will take a guided tour to Horseshoe Bend and Lower Antelope Canyon. We’ll see the Painted Desert and Navajo Nation, and enjoy lunch at Glen Canyon Dam and shop at Cameron Trading Post.
Antelope Canyon is the most visited, most photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It’s one of the most famous in the world, known for light beams peering down through walls of Navajo Sandstone.
Along our drive through Oak Creek Canyon, we’ll see the San Francisco Peaks overlooking Flagstaff and the Painted Desert, a colorful landscape of every hue.
Our experienced local guide will share insights about the ancient cultures, geology, flora and fauna along the way. We’ll see the Navajo Nation, the largest Indian reservation in the United States, and learn about its people.
At Horseshoe Bend, we’ll take a 1.5-mile round-trip hike to the Overlook for a spectacular view. The mighty Colorado River cuts through Glen Canyon 1,100 feet below and unveils how the bend got its name. We’ll have lunch at Glen Canyon Dam and see Lake Powell, America’s second-largest, man-made lake.
In Page, Arizona we’ll meet our Navajo Guide for a 60- to 90-minute tour of Lower Antelope Canyon. We’ll descend into an amazing slot canyon carved by flash floods and eroding winds and learn about the many colors of Navajo Sandstone and why the canyon is sacred. Our Navajo Guide will offer tips for taking dazzling images of the narrow passages.
On the way back to Sedona, we’ll stop at Cameron Trading Post to shop for authentic Native American art and souvenirs.
After returning to Sedona, we will enjoy a group dinner.

Activity: Approximately 2.5 miles of hiking in Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. You must be able to climb up and down several steep, ladder-like staircases.


Day 4-Hike & Depart
Sunrise Hike to Devil’s Bridge and Depart Phoenix
Sadly, it’s our last day and we plan to make the most of it. We’ll get up early to avoid the crowds and take in the sunrise at Devil’s Bridge, the largest natural sandstone arch located in the Sedona area of Coconino National Forest. It’s a great hike that offers breathtaking views of Red Rock country. Individual and group photos will be taken on the iconic Devil’s Bridge!
We will make our way to Phoenix for departure flights with a stop along the way for a Farewell Lunch. We will return to the Phoenix airport by 2:00pm. Flights should be made for after 4:00 pm.

Activity: 4.9 mile hike with an elevation gain of 630 feet. Hike is rated as moderate.
