About this trip
Join us in Moab October 2025! Our guides strategically crafted this trip to get the most out of 5 days in Moab. We will explore both The Island in the Sky and The Needles Districts of Canyonlands National Park in addition to taking some time in Arches National Park. We didn’t stop at the National Parks though as we will be going out for an ATV tour in the red rocks of Utah. And you can’t go to Moab without traversing slot canyons, so we made sure to include a day of slot canyon hiking! This trip encompasses a lovely variety of the best activities to do in Moab, UT.
Highlights
Activity Level: Moderate Hiking
The hikes that we have planned for this trip are rated as moderate. You will want to be in decent hiking shape before this trip (30 min/mile on average). We want to make sure everyone is at a similar level so we can stay close together during the hike. The best way to train for the hikes in store would be to go for walks of equal distance and try to train for elevation gain if possible (hiking uphill or using a stair climber at a gym are a couple of ways). Comfortable hiking boots/shoes and a reliable daypack are a priority.

Sneak Peek Trip Details
Day 1 - Arrive in SLC
Arrive in Salt Lake City and Drive to Moab, UT
Plan to arrive at the Salt Lake City Airport by 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 22nd and your amazing Chicas Abroad guides will pick you up in the honorary Chicas van for the weekend. We have a bit of a drive to Moab so we will load up the van with all the chicas, and of course snacks, and hit the road. The drive will take about 4 hours. We will arrive to Moab in time to drop off our luggage at our amazing accommodation for the weekend and go into town for our Welcome Dinner.

Day 2 - Sunrise & Canyon
Dead Horse Point Sunrise & Little Wild Horse Slot Canyons
We are making the most of our time in Moab and rising with the birds on our first full day in Moab! We will pack up breakfast and lunch and drive a short distance to Dead Horse Point to catch the sunrise. This is a magical place to see the sun coming over the canyons so you will thank your guides for making you wake up so early.
After enjoying the sunrise we will get on the road and drive 2 hours to the Little Wild Horse Slot Canyon Trailhead. This trail will take us through miles of tight slot canyons with some areas where the trail opens up so you can see all of the amazing rock features around. These canyons are an incredible natural feature and hiking within them is a truly unique experience we are sure you will love!
After our hike we will complete the voyage back to Moab where we will have time to explore the town before having dinner.
Hiking: Little Wild Horse Canyon, 8.1 miles, 3-4 hours to complete

Day 3 - ATV & NP Hiking
Morning ATV Ride & Hiking in Arches and Northern Canyonlands
Today will include a fun variety of activities as we will start the morning with an ATV ride and then spend the afternoon hiking in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.
After a homemade breakfast by your guides at the Air BnB we will go into town to get suited up for our morning ATV ride! The ride will begin at 9 am and will be 2.5 hours long. We will be riding through an area called Hell’s Revenge which consists of slickrock, secluded canyons, pre-historic dinosaur tracks, and panoramic views of Arches National Park and the Colorado River.
After our adrenaline-filled morning on the ATVs we will enjoy some short hikes in Arches and Northern Canyonlands. We plan to do 3 or 4 small hikes this afternoon to some of the most iconic arches and natural features within these two parks.
Hiking: Neck Spring Trail, Canyonlands, 5.5 miles, 2.5 hours; Delicate Arch Trail, Arches, 3.2 miles, 1.5 hours; we will include a few overlooks as well.

Day 4 - Needles Hiking
Hiking in The Needles District of Canyonlands
Today we get to explore the southern end of Canyonlands National Park which is known as the Needles District. We will get a relatively early start this day because the Needles area is a 2 hour drive from Moab. Here we will gear up for a longer hike that will definitely be worth it for the stunning views and variety of natural features on the trail. The Chelser Park Loop Trail will not disappoint with its slot canyons and views of the needles. We will pack lunch along with us so we can enjoy it along the trail.
This trail is not difficult as far as elevation, but it is lengthy so we will enjoy a relaxing evening after our drive back to Moab.

Day 5 - Depart Moab
Say Goodbye to Moab and Drive to SLC
This morning we will enjoy our final breakfast together before we hit the road and travel back to Salt Lake City. Plan to have your flights leaving no earlier than 4pm so we have time to get back to the airport. We will pack lunches and snacks to take in the van with us on the drive.

A $500 non-refundable deposit is due at booking, with 3 additional monthly payments of $500, with the final payment due by August 22. Please contact us if you’d like to set up a custom payment plan.
This price is for a double-occupancy room in either a shared King bed or in a room with 2 double beds. If you are traveling alone, we will pair you with another Chica. You may choose to secure a single King room for yourself for an additional fee at checkout.
