This trip is perfect for active travelers who enjoy moderate hiking and outdoor activities. The Dolomites portion involves daily hikes ranging from 2 to 5 hours, with moderate elevation gains (up to 3,000 feet) and varying terrain, including alpine meadows, rocky paths, and mountain trails. No technical climbing is required, but a basic fitness level and sturdy footwear are essential. The Veneto and Prosecco region offers more leisurely walks through charming towns and vineyards, with relaxed tours and tastings. Overall, the trip blends physical activity with plenty of downtime to enjoy the stunning landscapes, local culture, and delicious food and wine.

Day 1 - Ciao, Italia!
Welcome to the Dolmites
Arrive at Venice’s Marco Polo Airport and begin your adventure with a scenic drive through northern Italy’s rolling hills and mountain villages. By afternoon, we’ll reach the charming alpine town of Sappada, tucked away in the heart of the Dolomites.
After checking into our cozy chalet in the historic center, we’ll gather for a welcome reception and trip briefing—complete with local treats and good company. Then, enjoy a relaxed stroll through the village to get your bearings and take in the postcard-perfect views.
Tonight, we’ll savor our first dinner together at a local restaurant, full of alpine flavors and Italian flair.

Day 2-Hiking & Cheese
Mount Tuglia Hike, Traditional Lunch, Free Afternoon
Rise and shine—today we hit the trails! After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set out on a gentle hike to Mount Tuglia, where you’ll get your first taste (literally and figuratively) of the Dolomites. Along the way, we’ll start uncovering the fascinating story of these ancient rock formations.
Our reward? A stop at a traditional mountain dairy, where we’ll enjoy a rustic lunch featuring local cheeses and other delicious regional specialties.
In the afternoon, we’ll stroll back down to Sappada, with the rest of the day free to relax, explore, or simply soak in the mountain air.

Day 3-Into the Mountains
The Marmot Trail to Calvi Hut
Lace up those boots—it’s time to officially hit the trail! This morning we begin our trek north, following the scenic Marmot Trail toward the majestic Mount Peralba. Keep your eyes peeled—you might just spot a few curious marmots along the way.
We’ll pause midday for a picnic lunch surrounded by stunning alpine views, then continue on to our destination: the cozy and welcoming Calvi Hut, perched at 7,110 feet.
Once we arrive, the rest of the afternoon is yours. Sip a warm drink (or a well-earned beer) on the hut’s terrace as you take in jaw-dropping views, or choose to explore nearby World War I sites, including dramatic caves carved right into the mountainside.
Dinner is served mountain-style at the hut, where we’ll rest and refuel for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 4 - Forest Trails
Picnic at a Lake, Wildlife Spotting
Get ready for a big day on the trail! We’ll set off this morning on our longest hike of the trip, winding through peaceful forests, crossing sparkling streams, and passing by timeworn farmhouses that feel like they belong in a fairytale.
Our destination is the serene Lake Bordaglia, nestled at 5,740 feet in a pristine natural reserve. We’ll stop here for a scenic picnic lunch, surrounded by the sounds of nature and—if we’re lucky—maybe even a glimpse of local wildlife like deer, marmots, eagles, or chamois.
From the lake, we’ll make our way down to the quiet village of Pierabech, where a private transfer whisks us away to Rifugio Tolazzi. The evening is all about relaxing, recharging, and enjoying a cozy dinner in the mountains.

Day 5 - Alpine Hike
Mountain Climbing, Peaceful Pastures, Leisurely Afternoon
Today we make our way to Rifugio Marinelli, nestled high on the slopes of Mount Coglians—the tallest peak in the Friuli region. On the way up, we’ll stop for a well-deserved break (and maybe a treat!) at Malga Morareto, a peaceful mountain pasture tucked into the stunning Degano Valley.
Once we arrive at the Marinelli Hut, we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch with sweeping alpine views all around. The afternoon is yours to enjoy—relax on the terrace with a book or a drink, or join an optional hike to explore the scenic trails that surround the refuge.
Dinner is served at the hut, with mountain charm and fresh air on the menu.

Day 7 - Carnic Alps
Morning at Leisure and Catamaran Sunset Cruise
Our final hiking day takes us up and over the scenic Entralais Pass at 2,190 meters, with sweeping views of the Pesarine Dolomites and the Carnic Alps all around. From here, we begin our descent into the peaceful Pesarina Valley, winding through golden pastures and quiet beech forests.
By afternoon, we arrive in the storybook village of Pesariis, known for its clock-making tradition and historic charm. We’ll settle into a lovely farmhouse in the heart of the village and enjoy some well-deserved downtime.
This evening, get ready for a truly special farewell dinner featuring Eliana’s home-cooked creations—made with love, local ingredients, and a whole lot of flavor.

A combination of hotels and mountain huts. Bring your sense of adventure! All the mountain huts have electricity and hot water, so it’s not too rustic.
Ground Transportation
Private transfer will be provided throughout the trip. Airport transfers also included.
